When is the Fast and Furious 9 release date?

F9 opens June 25, 2021. F9 was originally slated to open May 22, 2020, but the release was postponed due to the international coronavirus crisis. On Thursday March 12, Universal wrote the following message on the film’s official Facebook page: The statement continued:

What’s the Fast and Furious 9 plot?

Most plot details are still under wraps, but we know that in F9, Dominic’s crew must team up to fight their most dangerous opponent yet, Dominic’s brother (played by series newcomer John Cena).

What’s the Fast and Furious 9 rating?

All but guaranteed to be PG-13. Every previous entry in the series has this rating (for intense action sequences and car chases, some language and sex jokes). Barring any curveballs, F9 will be rated PG-13.

Who’s in the Fast and Furious 9 cast?

Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto

Charlize Theron as Cipher

Helen Mirren as Magdalene Shaw

Jordana Brewster as Mia

Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz

Michael Rooker as Buddy

Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce

John Cena as Jakob Toretto

Jim Parrack in unannounced role

Cardi B in unannounced role

What did we learn from the Fast and Furious 9 trailer?

The biggest surprise from the trailer is that (trailer spoiler) Han (Sung Kang) is back from the dead. #JusticeForHan started trending immediately. Other highlights include a look at Letty and Dom’s happy domestic life, a first look at Cena’s character and of course, the trailer teases F9’s action scenes. A new trailer dropped in April 2021.

What kind of action scenes can we expect from F9?

What could possibly top the stakes of the parachute drop from Furious 7, or the business with the submarine in the climax of F8? The trailer shows us some exciting hand-to-hand combat sequences with the leading ladies (Rodriguez and Brewster) front and center, some cool helicopter action, and a “magnet plane.” The trailer ends with a death-defying aerial leap between island cliffs. There’s something of a running joke among fans that the only way for this series to top itself at this point is for Dominic’s crew to go to outer space. There’s no evidence this will happen in F9, but maybe it could happen in F10?

Who is the Fast and Furious 9 director?

Justin Lin returns as director; he’s directed a total of six films in the franchise since 2006’s Tokyo Drift. Straight Outta Compton’s F. Gary Gray helmed F8: The Fate of the Furious. This is the first movie Lin has directed since 2016’s well-reviewed but financially unsuccessful Star Trek Beyond.

How much did F9 cost to make?

The numbers haven’t been officially announced yet, but it’s safe to assume F9 matched F8’s $250-million pricetag thanks to gigantically-scaled sequences of car mayhem and the salaries of the A-list cast.

How do I watch the earlier Fast and Furious movies in order?

Here is the correct chronological order:

When is Fast and Furious 10 coming out?

It’s safe to assume F10 will open in 2022. The original release date of F10 was April 2, 2021—now occupied by F9—and it’s highly unlikely the pictures will open concurrently. So we may have to wait until 2022 for #JusticeForHan.

How many Fast and Furious movies are there going to be?

Universal Pictures has said F10 will be the end of the Fast Saga—or at least a final act before a series reboot.

Will Brian (Paul Walker) be in F9?

Series star Paul Walker died in a tragic car crash on November 30, 2013 at age 40 as Furious 7 was in production. Thanks to state-of-the-art visual effects and clever writing, his role as Brian O’Conner was seemingly capped off, with his brothers Cody and Caleb used as stand-ins. It was an ingenious, respectful sendoff that fans loved. But was that the end for Brian? A lot of signs suggest the character may return in some capacity for F9 and/or F10. For starters, Walker’s brother Cody was spotted on the set of the next picture. Additionally, Jordan Brewster returns in F9 as Mia, Brian’s love interest and co-parent to two children. Perhaps most telling is Vin Diesel’s cryptic Instagram post from March 13, a tribute to “Pablo” (his nickname for his dear friend Paul Walker). Check out the post here.
