She stepped out in the breathtaking ensemble at The Hague to introduce the games’ founder and the assembled crowds “fellow veteran” Prince Harry, appearing to get emotional as she paid tribute to her “incredible husband” who “has spent many late nights planning for these games.” She went on, “I could not love and respect him more. He is the father to our two little ones, my incredible husband, Prince Harry.” When the Duke of Sussex joined his wife on stage, the couple shared a kiss. Meghan’s gorgeous bodysuit is by Khaite, and its off-the-shoulder design helped showcase the duchess’s statement yellow gold necklace by Cartier ($15,200). She also wore her Lorraine Schwartzman diamond jacket earrings, which she previously wore on the yellow carpet at the premiere of the Lion King. (Lorraine Schwartzman also designed Meghan’s eternity ring which was a gift from Harry on their first wedding anniversary, and updated the duchess’s engagement ring to give it a thinner band with a diamond pavé setting.) On her wrist were some of her usual bracelets: her Cartier ‘Love’ bangle,Princess Diana’s diamond tennis bracelet, and another diamond tennis bracelet that was a wedding present fromPrince Charles. It’s great to see the Duchess of Sussex out and about rocking her unique sense of style once again—the Invictus Games marks only the second time she’s appeared in public in 2022. We loved the slouchy white suit she wore to the welcome reception ahead of the games’ opening ceremony. Meanwhile, her other outfits have been perfect for a week of sporting events! There was her inspired pairing of a black tweed Celine jacket covered in gold buttons with oversized ‘boyfriend’ jeans, and at a meeting with Team Canada Meghan brought back one of her favorite looks—monochrome! The duchess looked very chic in a tan wrap coat, tan turtleneck and tan pants, with her hair pulled back in a tight bun. Yesterday Meghan paired another pair of jeans with a belted white coat by Brandon Maxwell, and at one point rocked a pinstripe blazer that we truly covet. (The navy blazer is by Veronica Beard, who made Meghan’s iconic blue shirtdress that she wore during the Sussexes’ 2018 visit to Tonga.) Finally, for a reception hosted by the Invictus Games Foundation, Meghan stepped out in a $6000 white minidress by Valentino that features a floral laser-cut design. This was perhaps the first time during the games that Meghan opted for a bold red lip and statement side-swept hair—and it was perfection.
